Mbas daljes së raportit të ODIHR-it për zgjedhjet vendore të 14 majit ka reaguar edhe Anbasada e SHBA në Tiranë.

???????? Ambasada e SHBA mirëpret raportin e fundit të ODIHR-it për zgjedhjet vendore të 14 majit që përshkruan fushat me përmirësim të vazhdueshëm, si dhe mangësitë. Shtetet e Bashkuara nxisin qeverinë, partitë politike dhe institucionet shtetërore të zbatojnë rekomandimet e ODIHR-it, të cilat përfshijnë keqpërdorimin e burimeve shtetërore në nivel qendror dhe vendor, akuzat për blerje votash nga të gjitha palët, marrjen e masave për të siguruar fshehtësinë e votimit dhe parandalimin e frikësimit të votuesve, si dhe presionin mbi punonjësit e sektorit publik dhe votuesit. Raporti theksoi gjithashtu nevojën për të siguruar zbatimin e ligjit për të drejtën e informimit në mënyrën e duhur, dekriminalizimin e shpifjes, si dhe mbështjetjen e gazetarisë së pavarur. Shtetet e Bashkuara mbështesin angazhimin për të trajtuar të gjitha rekomandimet e ODIHR-it, në mënyrë që të sigurohet një kuadër zgjedhor gjithëpërfshirës dhe konseguent si dhe kërkesat e popullit shqiptar për një demokraci të fortë.
???????? The U.S. Embassy welcomes the latest ODIHR report from the May 14 municipal elections describing areas of continuing progress as well as shortcomings. The United States urges the government, political parties, and state institutions to implement ODIHR’s recommendations which include the misuse of state resources at the central and local levels, allegations of vote buying on all sides, ensuring safeguards for voting secrecy and preventing intimidation of voters, and pressure on public-sector workers and voters. The report also noted the need to ensure proper implementation of the law on the right to information, decriminalizing defamation, and supporting independent journalism. The United States supports a commitment to addressing all ODIHR recommendations to ensure a comprehensive and consistent electoral framework, as well as the demands of the Albanian people for a strong democracy.
